About the programme
LEVEL provides specialist LGBTQ+ domestic abuse support across Calderdale and Kirklees. LEVEL supports people affected by domestic abuse, alongside people who want help to change harmful behaviour in their relationships.
LEVEL supports accountability, reduces harm, and helps build safer futures – all within a framework that understands the impact of identity, discrimination and trauma.
Run by Brunswick and WomenCentre, LEVEL is part of the Drive Partnership’s national effort to reshape responses to domestic abuse.
LEVEL recognises the real and complex experiences of LGBTQ+ people and is designed to fill the gaps left by traditional services that often exclude or overlook LGBTQ+ relationships.
Our support is inclusive of trans and non-binary people.
LEVEL offers one-to-one support for people who want to change harmful behaviour, alongside independent support for current or former partners affected by that behaviour. Partner support does not depend on the other person completing the programme.
LGBTQ+-specific abuse can include threats to disclose someone’s identity, misuse of pronouns, control of medication, isolation from LGBTQ+ communities and discrimination-based abuse.

Referrals
LEVEL provides free support for LGBTQ+ people aged 18 and over who live in Calderdale or Kirklees. This includes people who want help to change harmful behaviour and current or former partners affected by that behaviour. Support can be provided in person or online, depending on individual needs.
Professionals working with LGBTQ+ individuals in Calderdale or Kirklees can refer into the programme.
We also welcome self-referrals.
LEVEL recognises that abuse can happen in all relationships, and that support must be relevant and inclusive.
