LEVEL will be taking part in the forthcoming Well Proud LGBTQ+ Conference in Brighouse, on Friday 27 February.
This event is part of the Well Proud campaign from The Brunswick Centre and partners, created to improve support for LGBTQ+ people across our communities.
LGBTQ+ people continue to face unique health and wellbeing challenges shaped by discrimination, stigma and barriers to accessing services. Many support services are still not designed with LGBTQ+ needs in mind, which can leave people unsure where to turn. This conference brings together professionals, practitioners and community organisations to strengthen understanding and share practical ways to improve support.
Around 100 delegates from health, wellbeing, social care and community roles, along with local LGBTQ+ groups will be attending.
It is a chance to learn, connect, reflect and build stronger, more inclusive services across Calderdale and Kirklees.
Throughout the day presenters will explore key areas that shape LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing. Sessions and discussions will cover support around smoking, alcohol and drug use, mental health and emotional wellbeing, screening and awareness, the importance of safe, inclusive spaces, HIV prevention and care, and more. There will also be opportunities to hear about new projects, local services and practical approaches that can improve outcomes across Calderdale and Kirklees.
