Calderdale College session on LGBTQ+ identity and domestic abuse

LEVEL recently delivered a session at Calderdale College, supporting students to explore LGBTQ+ identity, domestic abuse and what safe, supportive behaviour can look like.

The session covered awareness of domestic abuse, different LGBTQ+ identities, types of abuse, common myths and assumptions, and how to be a positive ally.

It was designed to be accessible, practical and discussion-based, helping students think about respect, safety, identity and support in everyday situations.

Feedback from the college was extremely positive, with one staff member saying:

“Thank you so much for the session today with my high need learners. It was one of the best sessions I have had with them, with outside staff. You handled the surprises well and tailored the information exactly to their level. Thank you so much!”

LEVEL will continue working with local partners to support better understanding of LGBTQ+ experiences, healthier relationships and safer communities.
